Boxhead: The Zombie Wars Walkthrough
The fifth game in the Boxhead series, Boxhead: The Zombie Wars, really kicks it up a notch and brings the blood fans of zombie games love so much. If you consider yourself a fan of zombie games - whether you're an experienced player or a newcomer to the genre - you need to put this game at the top of your must-check-out list. There are four levels of difficulty to choose from - beginner, intermediate, expert and nightmare - so every player should be able to find the level of difficulty they're looking for. There are also two different game modes to choose from, classic and defense, so you can choose to play the type of game you like the most. In addition to all that, both modes have three different worlds to choose from so if you get tired of playing one, you can move on to the next one.
The basic premise behind Boxhead: The Zombie Wars couldn't be simpler in classic mode. Like most zombie games, this one starts following the zombie apocalypse. We're Your goal is to obliterate any and all zombies you encounter throughout the level. Once you've killed all the zombies you'll move on to the next level. Each new level brings more zombies and as you progress, you'll face new types of zombies. Some of these zombies just randomly pop out of the ground. Some of the zombies are faster than other zombies. All of them have one goal - to make a snack out of your brain. Your job is to kill them before they can do that. If you fail, well, you become zombie lunch and your game is over.
A new and challenging addition to this zombie game over the other Boxhead zombie games is the ability to build, maintain, and defend your own base. Basically what happens in this mode is you are assigned a base (your fortress) at the start of the game, and it is your job to collect various items, distribute them strategically about your bunker, and assemble and maintain a fortress which will, in turn, protect your character. Your job isn't so much to lock horns in close combat with the droves of zombies coming at you in this mode, as it is to keep your base operating smoothly. Don't worry too much the about the brain munchers catching you, though. As long as you're doing your job in keeping your fortress built-up, it will do all the defending of you that you'll need.
Aside from amazing new graphics, and the ability to build your own fortresses, Boxhead: The Zombie Wars also boasts of a ton of new and dangerous enemies all looking to have their fair share of of your juicy brain. They range from the regular, docile, zombies that you'll be used to if you have any experience with zombie games, to the zombies who pop out of the ground right where you're standing, to the extreme demon-zombies who can shoot fire from clear off the side of the playing-screen. These guys can do some serious damage, and they will end your game quickly if given a chance so watch out for them. There are also mummies, which are, more or less, slightly ramped up versions of the normal zombies, and little red guys who will chase you all around the playing field if you let them. The best way to deal with these little red guys is to run in a straight line until they're directly behind you, then turn tail and shoot them dead. Of course, if you can take them out before they ever get a chance to see you you'll be in even better shape.
Overall, Boxhead: The Zombie Wars is an excellent zombie game that will keep you on your toes from the beginning to the end. Your goal is to survive above all else and do everything you can to take out all of the zombies. It isn't an easy game, but it is a lot of fun. The different levels of difficulty allow you to choose the challenge you're looking for so no matter how much experience or skill you have with zombie games, you'll be able to find a mode of play that you can tackle. Although some more experienced players might find this game lacking in the plot department, if you like to kill zombies, you'll love this game. The graphics are fun and the ability to choose from different worlds helps the game feel fresh and entertaining long from start to finish. If you consider yourself a fan of zombie games, this is definitely one you need to play. It might not become your favorite, but it's certainly worth taking a few moments to check out. Just don't be surprised if you wind up playing longer than you intended to play. This one can be addictive!
