Rebuild 2 Walkthrough

Rebuild 2 is the sequel to the zombie game, Rebuild. Like its predecessor, Rebuild 2 combines the survival horror aspects of games such as The Last Stand with the management aspects of simulation games like SimCity.

Instead of going on the run like in most zombie games, you will be standing your ground in Rebuild 2. Your objective is to retake the entire city, starting with a humble beginning of just a few buildings in your perimeter. You will also have to manage population and resources in this zombie game. Recruiting more people to your town gives you more people to scout, scavenge, defend, or do other necessary jobs, but you will need food to feed them!

In the beginning of Rebuild 2, you must name and customize your character. The character customization screen in this zombie game is uniquely designed as a page from a journal. You may change your character's appearance by clicking on the portrait in the upper-right corner of the screen. To change your characters name or gender, simply click on the appropriate field. Finally, the "trusty item" that you choose (towards the bottom of the page) can provide a small starting bonus in morale, defense, scouting, or farming. The first time that I played Rebuild 2, I started with the pistol to bolster defense. My second time playing this zombie game, I decided to take binoculars for scouting. I advise you not to take the pistol because you will eventually find better weapons and soldiers seem to be the most numerous class that you will recruit in this zombie game, making weapons less necessary.

After you have customized your character, you will be taken to a similar screen to customize your city. If it is your first time playing Rebuild 2, I advise you to select the easiest difficulty level ("pretty easy") and to play in a small city. If you come back to this zombie game at a later time, the name that you give your city will appear in a list so that you may continue from where you left off if you so desire.

Rebuild 2 starts you off with a tutorial that will help you to learn the basics of the game. If this is your first time playing, I strongly advise you not to skip the tutorial. In the beginning, resources will be scarce so you will want to immediately try to retake farms first by sending soldiers out to clear them of zombies, followed by builders to reclaim the area. You will also want to send scouts to do recon on as many areas as possible and leaders to try to recruit other survivors. Just be sure to keep a few soldiers in the police station to defend your town from attack!

Rebuild 2 is an excellent game with a gameplay system that is well-designed. If you are a fan of zombie games, and you prefer to stand your ground rather than run away, then Rebuild 2 is just the simulation game for you.
